What's Special About Our All-On-4 Implants?

At Placentia Oral Surgery, we strive to provide you high-quality care and all the information you need to make the best decisions about your oral health. When you want to address gaps in your mouth and seek replacement teeth, we are excited to talk with you about your choices. Single dental implants, bridges, dentures, and All-On-4 implants are all options that can be effective solutions for your tooth gaps, and we can recommend you some of these over others as they pertain to your unique situation and dental health. All-On-4 implants, in particular, are a relatively new and increasingly popular way to provide support for an entire line of replacement teeth if that is what you need.

A traditional dental implant is a titanium screw that we carefully place in your jawbone where you have a tooth gap. We then can use this screw as a firm foundation for a replacement tooth. What makes our All-On-4 dental implant different is that, instead of one implant for each missing tooth, we can use four implants on top and on the bottom to serve as anchors for arches that can support many replacement teeth. When you have many gaps in your mouth, the All-On-4 dental implant can be a time and cost efficient way to restore your full smile. In time, this implant, like other types, becomes a permanent feature of your jawbone that will keep your new teeth safely and securely in place.

Benefits of All-On-4

Allows you to fill gaps in your mouth with fully functional prosthetic teeth
Minor surgery is all it takes to prepare your jawbone for your new replacement teeth that will look just like your other natural teeth
The titanium material fuses perfectly with your preexisting jawbone structure and functions as a new part of it
Requires only four implants on top and bottom to bring back your smile
Avoids the treatment time that it would require to give you an implant for each missing tooth
Significantly lower cost than the implant-per-tooth alternative

All-On-4 FAQ's

What Does The All-On-4 Implant Procedure Look Like?

After you have come in for a preliminary appointment where we make sure your jawbone can support dental implants, we then talk with you about the type of anesthesia you want to use on the day of your surgery. Local anesthesia will numb your jaw area, whereas general anesthesia will both desensitize you and render you blissfully unconscious and unaware during the procedure. We will then prepare you for the implants by taking out failing teeth and scraping out infected or diseased tissue from your gums and jaw. The final steps involve placing the implants evenly throughout your mouth, two on top and two on the bottom, and then cleaning the surgical areas as we finish.

How Do I Maintain My All-On-4 Dental Implant?

Your All-On-4 Dental Implant is designed to last you for up to a decade or more, and coming in routinely for check-ups and to maintain your dental hygiene can help guarantee this. Brushing and flossing twice a day is an excellent routine that can help maximize the longevity and success of your All-On-4 implant. If you have difficulty navigating around the implants with your regular toothbrush, let us know, and we can introduce you to interdental brushes that are designed to help you reach and clean those hard-to-reach areas. With maintenance tips like these on your side and with continuing routine appointments with us, your artificial teeth and your All-On-4 dental implants will help you keep your new and restored smile.
