Sinus Problems Can Lead to Tooth Pain

Posted on 4/30/2020 by Young Jun DDS MD FACS
Sinus Problems Can Lead to Tooth Pain It is a semi well-known fact that sinus issues can play a major role in our dental health. Both seasonal allergies as well as clogged or infected sinuses can create a number of other problems ranging from bacteria build up to pain. Speaking more specifically concerning the latter, we wanted to take a few moments to go over some of the ways these issues can cause pain and discomfort, as well as how our dental professionals can help:

Sinus Stoppages and Infections

It can many times be difficult to tell the difference between regular tooth pain and that which is caused by sinus issues. That is why it is always best to allow oral health professionals such as the ones we work with to take a closer look and see for themselves. What generally happens in the case of sinus related dental pain is that the pressure which builds up in the sinus cavities isn't released due to being clogged up and it begins to be felt in the roots of the teeth which share the same region of the face.

Seasonal Allergies

We also mentioned how allergies can affect your teeth as well as the sense of causing varying levels of discomfort or pain. Allergies which come and go with the changing of one season to the next can impact different people in different ways. The time of year which has the most effect on dental health is when it goes from warmer to cooler, as in summer to fall or especially fall to winter. To learn more about how sinus issues can affect dental health and lead to tooth pain, please contact our office and one of our helpful and knowledgeable staff will be glad to assist you with any information you may need.
